The Beauty of Being Unfinished
Rough Edges, a transformative poem that uncovers the beauty of life's imperfections.

When I think of being unfinished, I feel liberated. I envision life sculpting my rough edges (trials and tribulations), reminding me that imperfection is beauty. This transformation is like gazing at a masterpiece—the foundation remains, but my perspective evolves as I grow, unveiling new depths and meanings. In the realm of the soul, we are never truly finished, never completely whole, because the notion of “arrival” is an illusion. Instead, life unfolds as a continuous journey of self-discovery. Each milestone achieved, each challenge overcome, and each triumph celebrated marks not the end but a new beginning. I keep moving with the flow, inviting me to explore, learn, and evolve by writing my unfinished story.
This poem explores the idea that our “rough edges” are a natural part of who we are, but as we navigate life’s challenges, we are polished and refined, becoming smoother and more radiant. The process can be difficult, but ultimately, it reveals our inner beauty and guides us towards growth and ascension.
We are never truly finished; we are a work in progress crafted by the divine, and that’s the beauty of it.
Rough Edges
New poem written August 31, 2024.
Rough edges we all possess, A part of us, in every caress, Unpolished, raw and unrefined, A reflection of our soul's design. But as we journey, grow and roam, Our edges meet the world's rough home, Friction sparks, and slowly wear, A polishing that's hard to bear. With every scar, with every challenge, Our edges smooth, and we find rest, In the refinement, a rare beauty shines, With incomparable inner light. As we ascend, we shine so bright, Our rough edges, now a guiding light, Reflecting the beauty we've found, In the polishing of our soul's rough ground.

beautiful poem. I see life as constant becoming. unfolding. not place to go, not place to finish. just living. with the ING.
